Teeth in a Day

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a titanium or ceramic post (like a tooth root) that is surgically placed into the jawbone beneath the gum line. After it is left to heal, the dentist can then attach a replacement tooth or teeth onto that implant. An implant doesn’t come loose like a denture can; it acts like a natural tooth root and integrates with your bone.

Dental implants also benefit general oral health because they do not have to be anchored to other teeth, like bridges. This means that they are not destructive of your other teeth and, with a 98% success rate, are an excellent choice for maintaining a natural smile.

Why have teeth in a day?

Did you know that you can get the closest thing to a real tooth or permanent teeth in just one day? With no hospital appointments, no general anaesthesia, and a 98% success rate, dental implants could be the solution that you have been looking for. With new advances in dentistry, dental implant procedure, including multiple implants, can be placed with bespoke teeth made in just one day.

From the beginning of the process to the final fit of my implants, the care I received from Phillip and his team was excellent. Philip’s manner is caring and non-intimidating. His attention to detail in getting my final teeth to look ‘just right’ was exemplary.”

How dental implants can change your life

Unless you have a missing tooth, multiple missing teeth or your teeth are failing, many of us forget or do not even think about how important our teeth are in our day-to-day lives and our health. Missing teeth can have a detrimental impact on our self-esteem, which can cause anxiety and stress. If your teeth are failing because of a condition such as gum disease, this can have adverse effects on your overall health.

Our teeth impact our mental as well as physical health, and this is why restoration is so important. There are non-fixed solutions, such as dentures, although they are not always easy to wear as they are not as stable. Not only are dental implants a permanent solution, they are the closest thing to real teeth.

Teeth in a Day

Most frequent questions and answers

What is the 'teeth in a day' procedure?

After your assessment and consultation, if you wish to continue, you will be booked in for your ‘teeth in a day’ procedure. ‘Teeth in a day’ isn’t a single type of procedure but a technique which enables many different dental implant procedures to be carried out in just one day.

There are many different implant procedures, from single-tooth implants, multiple tooth implants, all-on-four, overdentures strengthened by implants and more. Our dental surgeon will talk through your specific treatment with you, explain everything, answer any questions, as well as talk to you about any fears or phobias you may have.

Your dental technician will consult closely with you to match the best shade and shape for your smile and then make your teeth either in their lab or onsite in a mobile dental laboratory from The Hive Dental Laboratory.

What to expect from your treatment with us?

Once you have consulted with our team and agreed to a treatment plan, you will be treated for any oral health problems you may have prior to the procedure, if any. If you have requested IV sedation, then an anaesthetist will be arranged for the day of your surgery.

Before the procedure, our dental surgeon will give you a local anaesthetic to numb the area. Depending on the procedure, your dental surgeon will place one, two or multiple dental implants into your jawbone. These will be used to support your teeth.

Our dental surgeon will then take immediate impressions after the implants have been placed so that a provisional crown, bridge or implant-retained denture can be made on-site the same day. The final bridge or crown will be sculpted by our dental technician during the healing process. The provisional is used so that you can have teeth in place during the 4-6 month healing period, which will be very similar to the final teeth, fitted after this healing time.

The provisional bridge is so that patients can see what they like and dislike about their teeth. Things to consider are the colour, shade, shape and position. The final crown, bridge or implant-retained denture is designed in a dental laboratory so that any changes can be made with no delays.

The teeth-in-a-day procedure is not suitable for all patients; this can be for a range of different reasons, from periodontal health to bone recession.
